I feel as though, sometimes, the best way to truly appreciate the life you live is by reflecting on all the good things. What better time to do that than the end of another year? 2017 was quite the year for me: the loss of my grandfather, the end of a relationship, the discovery of … Continue reading Reflecting on 2017
7 hrs and 40 mins layover: To Explore or Not Explore?
The flight came to a rumbling halt as our plane landed at Gatwick Airport, different from Heathrow, something that I’ve learned while landing. This entire time, I wrongfully assumed that Gatwick/Heathrow were the same thing. Don’t ask me why. I don’t know, I just assumed. Flashback to a month ago when I gleefully said, “it … Continue reading 7 hrs and 40 mins layover: To Explore or Not Explore?
Time Won’t Give You a Minute
“How did it get so late so soon?” - Dr. Seuss I have been thinking a lot about time, and there is a tied emotion for which I have no words to articulate. I know that I have been wandering around this universe with this incredibly dark cloud following me. The familiar feeling of resentment … Continue reading Time Won’t Give You a Minute
Eateries in New Orleans
One of my favorite things to do while traveling is finding good places to eat. Part of the experience is expanding your palate. "Have an alligator on a stick!" After a few short days in the warm city of New Orleans, I felt that my stomach was quite pleased with all the flavorful yums! I … Continue reading Eateries in New Orleans
Why I “yolo” solo-dolo!
“Wait, you’re going alone? Do you know anyone there?” “I am going alone and I don’t know a single person there.” I sat at the airport, eating my burrito bowl, as I waited to depart Boston. It was a night flight which meant that I would arrive early in Ireland. Too early to check into … Continue reading Why I “yolo” solo-dolo!
Views of Iceland from the Road
Our experience with driving in Iceland. Sometimes, you just gotta take a leap of faith and hope for the best. We're glad that we rented a car while we were there but we were also very fortunate with the weather. I can't imagine driving in a hailing blizzard. Here are some shots of Iceland from our road trip.
Blue Lagoon, Iceland
There are many tourist traps out there but I think this is quite the catch. It was a relaxing thing to do after our flight. The silica mask softened our skin and I can't imagine a better way to be welcomed to Iceland than to soak in the Lagoon for several hours. Definitely recommend it.
Day Trip to Lillehammer, Norway
This was perhaps one of the most scenic drive that I've taken in Norway. I'm glad that we made good use of the daytime to really see all that this beautiful country has to offer. All of it's surrounding mountains and valleys creates the most picturesque landscapes.
Skiing in Tryvann, Norway
I swear people in Norway have skied from the womb out. In my lifetime, I've only ever skied twice and both of which took place in Norway. There is clearly something in the snow. While I was busy falling, and worrying that I didn't break any bones, there were children as little as 3 yrs old … Continue reading Skiing in Tryvann, Norway
